Summary:
P1:People used to think that feather fossils could help people understand the colors of ancient birds, but new research has confirmed that what has been considered melanin in the fossils may also be bacteria.
P2:A new study published last week in the journal Nature believes that the dark deposit on fossils is indeed the result of the decay of the animal's epidermis, and scientists have determined the color of dinosaurs and other ancient reptiles by analyzing this dark deposit.
