The Ultimate AP Human Geography Guide & Official Past-Year Papers with MCQ

by SAT GrandMaster on April 03, 2021

Content Difficulty

AP Human Geography is more of a science subject than an arts subject. Compared to history, the requirements for reading and writing of candidates will be relatively lower. If you have accumulated knowledge from US History or World History, it will be even easier to learn Human Geography.

Content Coverage

The AP Human Geography includes 7 themes such as cultural development models, political models and development progress, agriculture and land use, urban development. It involves not only the political, historical, cultural and economic factors of human social structure, but also the role and reaction of the geographical environment. The seven themes do not exist in isolation, but are closely related to each other.

We need to develop a deep understanding of the relationship between the exhibition mode and the geographical environment. Candidates need to memorise proper nouns and phenomena, and also need to analyse and explain with examples of the specific phenomenon.

Compared with historical subjects such as AP US History and World History, Human Geography has a different understanding of history and the development of human society.

Should You Take AP Human Geography?

The five-point rate of Human Geography is around 10% to 12%, which is similar to AP US History. However, the good thing about Human Geography is that there's no long essay, therefor it has a lower requirements for writing skills.
