Questions 11-21 - Social Science - Official March 11,2017 SAT Test Question and Answer Service paper

The passage is adapted from David Disalvo,What Makes Your Brain Happy and Why You Should Do the Opposite.©2011 by David DiSalvo.

This article describes a concept-metaphor, and its impression and effect on human psychology. At the beginning of the article, I cited a metaphor example, saying that if you haven’t been to a city and another person’s description of the city is messy, this metaphor will be deeply ingrained in our minds, even if we find it to be inaccurate. It is difficult to remove. The article then uses examples of scientific experiments to continue to use data to illustrate the impact of metaphor on human psychology. The example is to describe a crime in a city, using two different words to describe the crime, one is to describe the crime as "like beasts ravaging the city", the other is like "a virus spreading the city", and then let the respondent choose a solution, the ferocious "increasing" "Police and prison" and moderate "education and support the economy" have completely different results.

Questions 43-52 -Science - Official March 11,2017 SAT Test Question and Answer Service paper

Passage 1 is adapted from"A Warm Little Pond?"©2013 by The Economist Newspaper Limited.Passage 2 is adapted from Stuart Clark,"Fire&Ice:What Really Happened to Water on Mars."©2008 by Reed Business Information, Ltd.

Both articles are about Mars. The first chapter talks about the existence of warm little ponds on Mars hundreds of millions of years ago. The article introduces the location and size of this lake, and discusses that because of the existence of this lake, it has the basic conditions for life, and puts forward a theoretical idea. The second article proposes that the traditional view that there is water on Mars and that prehistoric life can be hatched for a long time may be wrong. Studies have shown that Mars may have encountered a major change that the Earth has never experienced in a very short period of time. The water source has disappeared and there is not enough time for life to hatch.
